My experience in Germany was an exiting one. Even though I had to settle on eating only rice in a very cold weather condition for my three months stay, I learned a lot of new skills of my professional carrier. Whole genome sequencing, the most valuable tool in monitoring emerging diseases and well utilized in the COVID-19 management is a very scarce and expensive in developing countries and usually not taught in schools. With the help of G-WAC, I can confidently boast of my practical exposure and experience in Oxford nanopore and illumina sequencing. I can show up my chest that I have done it before and can do it again when I am call upon at any time. This short stay really enlightens me more on molecular diagnostic techniques and given me the opportunity to interact with people from different backgrounds and participated in seminars with people of high academic integrity outside my home country. It has also helped to learn different ways and kills of doing things especially related to laboratory diagnostics.

It will be great if G-WAC could plan ahead of time for the next batch of students to come for a short stay in Germany so that they could secure accommodation for them early. It will help reduce students stress in the new environment and the super expensive cost of accommodation. Accommodation in Berlin is not easy to fine and also very expensive.
